On March 4, Mr. Jung Won Ju, Chairman of Daewoo E&C, had a meeting with Mr. Trần Sỹ Thanh, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee. The meeting took place in an open and constructive atmosphere, reaffirming Daewoo E&C’s commitment to urban development and investment in Vietnam.
During the meeting, Mr. Trần Sỹ Thanh shared that as of now, South Korea’s total investment in Hanoi has reached approximately $8.16 billion, primarily in real estate, manufacturing, and processing industries. Notably, investment in healthcare and social assistance activities from South Korean businesses has reached $214 million, accounting for 2% of total South Korean FDI in Hanoi.
Representing Daewoo E&C, Mr. Jung Won Ju introduced the company’s ongoing projects in Vietnam, particularly the Starlake (Tay Ho Tay) Urban Area, one of the key projects utilizing South Korean capital. Currently, Daewoo E&C is actively inviting more South Korean enterprises to invest in Vietnam, fostering a sustainable development ecosystem.
Beyond its existing projects in Hanoi, Dong Nai, and Thai Binh, Daewoo E&C is also exploring new investment opportunities to expand its footprint in Vietnam. The company expressed its desire to implement Phase 2 of the Starlake project, aiming to develop a modern, well-integrated urban area that enhances the capital city’s landscape.
Chairman Trần Sỹ Thanh highly appreciated the Starlake project and affirmed that Hanoi is always ready to facilitate Daewoo E&C and other South Korean businesses in investing and developing in the capital. He emphasized that close cooperation between Hanoi and international investors will significantly contribute to the city’s socio-economic growth.
